Raf Simons Is Leaving Dior

Erin Fitzpatrick

It was a short but sweet ride for Raf Simons at Christian Dior. As WWD reports, the designer is leaving the house after three and a half years. He will not return to take another bow next season—his S/S 16 show was his last.

“It is after careful and long consideration that I have decided to leave my position as creative director of Christian Dior’s women’s collection,” Simons said in a statement obtained by WWD. “It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work." He went on to express his gratitude for having worked for "an extraordinary company."

His successor has not yet been named, but you can bet we'll be waiting with bated breath for the news. In the meantime, be sure to shop Simons' designs while you still can!
