The Only 6 Jewellery Trends That Matter This Summer

When it comes to expressing yourself through fashion, jewellery is perhaps the most poignant piece in your style repertoire. The items we chose to adorn ourselves with can tell a story—for example, I love sharing the tale of the initial necklace I always receive compliments on, which my dad gave to me on his wedding day when I was the tender age of 6. Of course, not every article of jewellery I own has such sentimental value. Still, I can say that each piece was carefully chosen and acts as a reflection of myself and how I’d like the world to see me. That said, jewellery can be timely, too—a moment captured in time and an easy way to update your look to make it feel more current.

So when it came to deciphering summer 2022’s jewellery trends, I wanted to include pieces from each end of the spectrum. A mix of jewellery to be cherished—even passed on to future generations—and jewellery that feels fresh and fun and can lift your mood the moment you place it. So without further ado, scroll below to discover what I think are the noteworthy and memorable jewellery trends of 2022.

Prior to Who What Wear UK, Maxine’s career began when, after completing her first-ever internship at Look magazine, she was offered a position on the brand's fashion desk. She accepted, leaving university a year early in the process. Her passion and natural talent for writing and styling meant she swiftly rose through the ranks to become the title's fashion news and commercial content editor, with a stint as InStyle.co.uk’s fashion and beauty writer along the way. She later served as Look’s acting Editor in Chief, overseeing both print and digital, before embarking on a successful freelance career, working with Grazia, The Pool, and Marie Claire amongst others.

Maxine is based remotely from her countryside home near Edinburgh where she spends her downtime renovating her house, walking her dogs, hosting friends and trying to master the art of making Old Fashioned cocktails.
