At just 17 years old, Lily-Rose Depp closed the Chanel show at Couture Fashion Week. And when it comes to the most buzzed-about personalities currently in Paris, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, ages 21 and 20 respectively, take the cake. But of all the women to appear on the runway this past week, no one holds a candle to Carmen Dell’Orefice, because at 85 years old, she shut down the runway as she closed for designer Guo Pei.
It’s safe to say that Dell’Orefice’s career spans longer than any other model who shared in the spotlight this week: As Vogue reports, she first appeared on the cover of the magazine in 1946. But the octogenarian has also made a name for herself over the last several years, partnering with brands like H&M and Missoni among others. Now in her latest appearance earlier this week, she's teamed with the designer most recognizable for designing Rihanna's 2015 Met Gala outfit.
While we could go on and on about how amazing Dell’Orefice looks walking down the catwalk wearing a sparkly, red, larger-than-life silhouette, escorted by two young men, you really just need to see the photo of the iconic model herself. Scroll down for the full, regal effect from a woman who proves that age is nothing more than a state of mind.
