Selena Gomez's appearance at the first-ever InStyle Awards this week had us recalling a trend we hadn't seen in almost a decade: the bubble skirt. In case you need a refresher, what defines a bubble skirt (also referred to as a tulip skirt) is its short hemline that gathers to make a balloon silhouette. So who's responsible for this potential bubble-skirt comeback, you ask? None other than Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. The designer sent Gomez's look down the runway as part of the fashion house's recent S/S 16 collection. Fittingly, Gomez donned the look when accompanying Ghesquière at the InStyle Awards, where he received the honor of designer of the year.
