We love scoping out a new space, so when we heard Nordstrom was opening in Century City (dangerously close to our Los Angeles office), we were all ears. Naturally, this new Nordstrom location is every bit as luxe as the newly renovated Westfield mall, complete with special offerings like curbside pickup, phone charging stations, L.A.'s first "NordstromxNike" boutique, and the West Coast's first MAC Makeup Studio, dedicated to beauty services and lessons by licensed professionals.
Our favorite thing about the new store? It utilizes integrated sizing, keeping all of Nordstrom's chic styles together rather than merchandizing petite and plus-size clothing in separate departments. And to celebrate opening day, we co-hosted Style in the City, a party featuring chic activations dedicated to four of our favorite Los Angeles neighborhoods: West Hollywood, Venice, Downtown, and Beverly Hills. Couldn't make it? Don't miss this exclusive look inside the stylish event.
Upon arrival, guests received a style passport to get stamped as they shopped each L.A. city's distinct vibe.
First up: Beverly Hills, the city known for luxe fashion and iconic landmarks like the Beverly Hills hotel. Banana palm wallpaper, anyone?
Models showed off the latest collections available in-store and convinced us that we need metallic heels and flats ASAP. Need some help re-creating equally chic looks? Stop by the store's Style Bar, a drop-in styling hub where you can chat with a personal stylist to help you navigate the store and leave with a head-to-toe look you'll love.
More proof that wearing a dress over denim is a super-chic look for fall—now the only question is: ankle boots or slouchy knee-highs?
Speaking of dresses over denim being easy to pull off, here's Exhibit B.
Fashion and art collided in the Downtown L.A. area of the store, thanks to artist duo DabsMyla. They painted this graffiti-inspired mural that was donated to Children's Hospital Los Angeles post-event.
Nordstrom's current offerings make it clear that black does not have to be boring. Style your lace or sheer black pieces with patent-leather booties in the same dark shade for an edgy gothic glam look.
Arguably one of the trendiest areas in Los Angeles, the West Hollywood activation offered attendees bespoke embroidery on any of their in-store purchases. (Side note: We can't get enough of anything that can be customized to fit our personal style.)
