I'm Obsessed With Daisy Jones & the Six—These 7 Key Pieces Make Up Her Capsule
I'm entering my cool-girl era this spring, and it's all thanks to Daisy Jones & the Six. The Amazon Prime Video series is all anyone has been taking about in the Who What Wear office as of late, and it's not hard to see why. It's a stylish escape to the '70s, the golden era of chic fringe jackets and rock and roll. Sign me up.
If you're not up to speed, the show, starring Riley Keough and Sam Claflin, follows a fictional band and their struggles in keeping their relationships and careers alive. As a massive Fleetwood Mac fan, I knew I would love the show ages before it came out after reading the adaption's source material book by Taylor Jenkins Reid. What I didn't expect is that my boyfriend (who's into rap music and computer coding) would be glued to the screen with me.
The show has the ability to suck anyone in, and thanks to it's gripping storyline, I've basically been able to convince everyone I know to watch the show. The biggest draw for convincing my fashion friends to watch the show though? How amazing the costuming is. If the Daisy Jones & the Six fashion mood board taught me anything, it's that cool girls aren't just defined by how luxe their tapestry coats and oversized glasses are—it's about how they embrace their personal style over and over again.
Over the last few months, I've been seeing an inkling of Gen Z embracing '70s style aesthetics more and more. Maybe it's the surge of TikTok videos suggesting that 2023 festival fashion will include giant capes and psychedelic elements so heavily found throughout the '70s. Or that '70s staples like cowboy boots are (and have been) big news for fashion people recently. Either way, I'm here for it, and so is Gen Z. Frankly, they've been playing into it for a while.
So, with my obsession with Daisy Jones as well as the surge in '70s fashion in mind, I've rounded up the seven pieces I just know would be front and centre of Daisy's incredibly enviable wardrobe. Scroll on to discover more and shop the pieces you may need to help recreate the Daisy Jones & the Six look.
1. Fringe Jackets
Style Notes: If you're itching to embrace the Western side of the '70s rock-and-roll scene, get your hands on a vintage or upcycled fringe jacket to wear with a pair of cognac cowboy boots.

2. Double Denim
Style Notes: Just like her character in the show, actress and model Camila Morrone is all about the retro-style denim trend everyone is wearing this spring. Think boxy trucker jackets and wide-leg silhouettes.

3. White Tanks
Style Notes: Sometimes, the more basic, the better. This anti-trend style has lived far beyond the '70s thanks to its timelessness and the fact that it's so easy to pull off. Just grab your favourite pair of jeans and a white tank top of your choosing. If you're looking to channel Daisy, go for a tank with a bit more dimension with accents like lace, buttons, or sheer panels.

4. Statement Vests
Style Notes: I've never met a vest I didn't like. Layered on top of anything, they such make a fun, retro statement. Personally, I've been into vests with unexpected elements like fringe or textured patterns, and I'm sure Suki Waterhouse's character, Karen Sirko, would be proud.
Get the look:
Dress an embellished vest down by wearing it over a t-shirt or white midi dress.
This is sitting right at the top of my wish list.
An investment, yes, but one that I don't think you'd regret. Wear it with blue jeans and ankle boots, wide-leg trousers and trainers or under a blazer.
5. Faux-Fur Jackets
Style Notes: While Daisy Jones & the Six has been my obsession over the last few weeks, my first love when it comes to '70s aesthetics has to be the 2000 film Almost Famous. Throughout the movie, Kate Hudson's character constantly wears a fur-trimmed long coat that's since become synonymous with rock-and-roll style.
Get the look:
Charlotte Simone is the queen of the Penny Lane jacket.
Faux fur + bright blue = A match made in heaven.
I see this over a sequin mini dress or for a more casual look, with double denim.
6. Micro Tops
Style Notes: Ultra-mini tops are such a cool-girl staple throughout the ages. To re-create the '70s look, go for neutral, warm tones and halter-top, scarf-top or open-front styles when embracing the look.

7. Sheer Accents
Style Notes: Daisy Jones & the Six wouldn't be Daisy Jones & the Six without Daisy Jones's fashion choices, including her ultra-sheer capes. While the voluminous silhouette isn't always suitable for everyday looks, you can get the look by opting for separates in a semi-sheer fabrication.
