And Now, the Classic Luxury Buys Our Editors Are Standing by This Autumn
From standout dresses to timeless handbags, six editors weigh in on the most worthwhile luxury buys of autumn 2026.
It’s no secret that we Who What Wear editors love to find chic buys at a more affordable price point. Of course, there are some great value, classic pieces to be found on the great British high street that will last a long time in your collection. But sometimes, when curating your forever wardrobe, you’re looking to spend a bit more on quality, luxury items that then elevate the rest of your wardrobe effortlessly. And while we do love an expensive-looking bargain, as experts in the industry, we also know a thing or two about a smart designer fashion investment.
So, as we're almost into spring, I thought I would ask my fellow editors: what’s on their luxury wish list right now, and their answers didn’t disappoint. We're talking beautifully crafted bags, sleek ballet flats, light summer jackets and, of course, plenty of dresses. Pieces that they love now but will also stand by forever. One thing’s for sure, these women know how to elongate someone else’s wish list in a heartbeat—you've been warned.
Below you can see and shop their current luxury shopping picks. Not everything on our lists is wildly expensive—some are little luxuries— but rest assured, when they do come with a higher price tag, it’s on there because we believe it’s worth every penny. There are some all-time classics we’ve been lusting after for a long time, and some fresher new-in pieces that already seem just as timeless. Any one of these buys, though, feels rightly special and will add polish to your everyday wardrobes for many years to come. Keep scrolling for some luxurious shopping inspiration…

"This autumn, I’m finally looking to invest in a Nour Hammour jacket. The fashion-insider favourite, Paris-based brand excels in excellently crafted leather jackets, including this elegant collarless style. Find this as a prominent feature in my wardrobe for many years to come."
"Already selling fast! Amina Muaddi is an expert in excellent footwear and I've long wanted a pair of the brand's iconic shoes in my collection. As we're approaching autumn, I know a pair of sleek knee high boots will work hard over the next few seasons, styled up with dresses or even peeking out under tailored trousers."
2. Poppy Nash, Managing Editor

"I've been coveting Róhe's refined pieces for a while now, and of them all, it's the pankou closure shirts and jackets that I keep coming back to. The intricate detailing, the luxurious silk, and the elegant appeal mean this will instantly update my wardrobe to be more refined."
3. Florrie Alexander, Shopping Editor

"I always look to Toteme for refined outerwear. Now, I can't stop thinking about the refined parachute jacket. Lightweight enough to work hard through autumn, and with an oversized fit to layer up knits underneath when needed, it's as versatile as they come. Plus, this shade is seriously good."
"I practically live in trousers when autumn rolls around, and whilst I have my classic styles secure, I'm looking for something a little more elevated this year. Enter this tie-side style with bold fringing that is about to take my evening looks to a whole new level."
4. Marina Avraam, Senior Shopping Editor
Shop Marina's Picks:
"Whilst the cooler months are imminent, I'm still on the hunt for sleek warm-weather buys, and this Khaite dress is one I won't skip past. With soft ruching, a refined look and a full skirt, I'll be restyling this with everything from ballet flats to heeled mules."
5. Ava Gilchrist, SEO Writer
Shop Ava's Picks:
"My kryptonite is a grey, deep V-neck jumper. In my humble opinion, they’re the perfect styling piece during cold-weather months, as they offer just a glimpse of whatever basic white T-shirt you have hiding underneath, creating visual contrast without feeling overpowering. This autumn, I’ll be pairing mine with cream pumps and a beige pencil skirt."
"Is it so wrong of me to still be dreaming about dresses as we’re entering autumn? Call me an idealist, but the ruby red colour of this checked Faithfull piece seems like the perfect transitional item to see me through the crisper days that await us. Breezy enough to be layered with a loose jumper but cool enough to suit being styled on its own with ballet flats, wherever the wind blows, this dress will be coming with me."
"I’m a firm believer that a great jacket will make any look. This piece from Sydney-based brand Maison Essentie does all the heavy lifting for you, ensuring that whatever you pair it with—jeans, trousers, slip skirts—will look like the most premium version of it, courtesy of the shearling collar and lambskin fabric."

“I truly believe that when it comes to bags, if you invest well, the right style will last for decades rather than seasons. And this sentiment holds truest when looking at the Ferragamo Hug leather shoulder bag. Carefully curated to nestle under the pit of your arm, it's decident extreior of gold-tone hardware and removable straps whispers luxury, not screams. But the thing I adore the most about this piece has to be its contrasting interior. Peeking through at the edges, it ozees a cool without trying finish”
"For most of this year, I’ve been living by a ‘no new jeans’ ban, unless I could truly justify the buy. And you see, after stumbling across the Gucci Low-rise bootcut, that has gone out the window. A timeless silhouette with inherently stylish details, this classic shape blends the new with the old in a way which feels fresh, modern and inhernetly cool. Easy enough to slip on with a boot and loose shirt, whilst maintaining enough edge to make a statement all on their own, this style has rocketed to the top of my wishlist— and for good reason”.
"Every so often I’m stopped in my tracks at a luxury buy that feels overtly normal, but still happens to take my breath away. Now this is anything but a regular sky blue shirt. Naturally oversized in fit, the handcrafted contrasting embroidery which traces the collar, shoulders and cuffs adds uniqueness. One which manages to feel pretty and playful whilst dripping in cool girl edge."
