And Now, the Classic Luxury Buys Our Editors Are Standing By This Winter
From standout knitwear to timeless handbags, 6 editors weigh in on the most worthwhile luxury buys of winter 2025.
It’s no secret that we Who What Wear editors love to find chic buys at a more affordable price point. Of course, there are some great value, classic pieces to be found on the great British high street that will last a long time in your collection. But sometimes, when curating your forever wardrobe, you’re looking to spend a bit more on quality, luxury items that then elevate the rest of your wardrobe effortlessly. And while we do love an expensive-looking bargain, as experts in the industry, we also know a thing or two about a smart designer fashion investment.
So, as we're almost into winter, I thought I would ask my fellow editors: what’s on their luxury wish list right now, and their answers didn’t disappoint. We're talking beautiful suede leather bags, loafers and brilliant trench coats for the cooler season and of course plenty of knitwear. Pieces that they love now but will also stand by forever. One thing’s for sure, these women know how to elongate someone else’s wish list in a heartbeat—you've been warned.
Below you can see and shop their current luxury shopping picks. Not everything on our lists is wildly expensive—some are little luxuries— but rest assured, when they do come with a higher price tag, it’s on there because we believe it’s worth every penny. There’s some all-time classics we’ve been lusting after for a long time, and some fresher new-in pieces that already seem just as timeless. Any one of these buys, though, feels rightly special and will add polish to your everyday wardrobes for many years to come. Keep scrolling for some luxurious shopping inspiration…

"If money were no object, this would be my first purchase for the new season. The rounded, collarless design leans into the "ladylike" mood, with a soft finish and Cruella de Vil-like printed pattern. Simple outfits will instantly feel new with this coat in tow."
"This season, my outfits are calling out for a refined east-west bag to tuck under my arm, and Alaïa's Le Teckel is as classic as they come. Winter is a season focused on texture, and to amp up my leather accents, soft knits and sturdy denim, I'm looking to this calf hair style to take my looks to a whole new level."
2. Poppy Nash, Managing Editor

"The drop in temperatures has signalled the return of coats, and this winter I'm looking for something that I can call upon every single year. Naturally, I turned to House of Dagmar for that blend of classic design with a contemporary edge. The cosy wool, the cocoon silhouette and the soft shape of this coat will firmly cement it as my most worn piece this winter."
"My handbag collection is ready for some understated luxury, and Bottega's Knot Lock is everything I've been looking for. The iconic intrecciatto weave denotes the brand's high-end origins, whilst the design is so classic it will always feel current. I'll be carrying this by the top handle or adding the detachable strap for hands-free wear when grabbing my daily coffee."
3. Florrie Alexander, Shopping Editor

"Toteme's sumptuous alpaca knit has been a best-seller for years, and this year it's officially making its way off my wish list and into my wardrobe. The textured finish and boxy silhouette add a luxurious edge to this cosy knit, and I just know I'll wear it over and over again."
"Now that winter has arrived, I've found myself carrying around those added extras that the cold weather calls for—think an umbrella, scarf, and gloves just in case. Swapping out my simple shoulder bag for something more spacious, I'm looking to Manu Atelier's sleek Cambon Cabas bag in a sleek, deep brown shade."
"Calvin Klein is leaning into '90s minimalism this season with a highly sophisticated collection that every editor has taken note of. For me, it's the shoes that are setting this season's offerings apart, most notably the bold square-toed Kate flats."
4. Imani-Nia Francis-Tsolaki, Junior Fashion Editor

"When it comes to winter footwear, I’m after the classics, and is there possibly a better shoe than a loafer? Timeless and impossibly current, the Miu Miu Penny loafers are an iteration I can’t get out of my head this season. Minimal, soft, and endlessly cool—they’re the epitome of quiet luxury."
"I’ve been oogling this ring stack for the last few seasons, but in the season of giving, I think I might just treat myself to this ByPariah ring stack. A subtle way to make a statement, the contrast of the natural moss agate with the solid gold lends a luxurious edge without being too out there."
5. Ava Gilchrist, SEO Writer

"As we head into party season, I can’t think of a more fitting time to pull the trigger and invest in this stunning knee-grazing Tory Burch skirt. Adored with mirror discs and slightly sheer, I plan on pairing it with everything from a white tank top to a funnel-neck jacket."
"Prada’s autumn/winter 2012 menswear collection presentation—a.k.a the one where they cast all of Hollywood’s most dashing villians like Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell and William Defoe—is constantly playing in my mind. To me, this navy coat from Rohé has the same energy as the tailored outerwear shown in the show. (And will save me a trawl through every resale platform to find!)"
"I’ve been coveting a pair of driving shoes ever since I took a trip to Florence in 2024. Now, I think I’ve found the perfect pair, with this Le Monde Beryl pair filling a gap I have for a glossy, croc-effect, wine-coloured and bow-adored flat. (Who knew this was such a niche!)"
