From Rosie HW's to Zoë Kravitz's, 11 Celebrity Knitwear Trends We Love
We can’t get enough of knitwear at the moment. Through these dark early days of the year, wrapping yourself in wool really is the only answer.
If, like us, you're feeling a little uninspired with your current sweater collection (or worse—you’ve realised you have moths), there’s no need to panic. Why? Because winter 2021 is the season for knitwear trends, with yarns of all types taking on various forms from co-ords to jumper dresses and everything in between.
If there were ever a time to get playful and expand your collection, it’s now. We turned to our favourite celebrities for some inspiration on the most exciting and wearable styles for the new season, and they’ve certainly delivered. As soon as we saw Alexa Chung’s patchwork number, we knew we had to have it. The same goes for Zoë Kravitz’s satsuma-shade sweater. Cardigans are very much still a thing and taking on new iterations from embellished to long, as nailed by Naomie Harris and Sienna Miller.

Zoë Kravitz in Zingy Orange
Style Notes: Citrus-hued knitwear might be a microtrend, but after seeing it on countless influencers and street style elite Zoë Kravitz, we have a feeling demand is going to skyrocket for satsuma shades this winter.
The oversized cuffs on this knit really make it stand out.
Kaia Gerber in a Knitted Vest
Style Notes: Kaia Gerber always manages to pinpoint the biggest trends each season, and her knitted vest is no exception. Note hers includes varsity stripes, which mirrors the trending styles currently landing in new-in sections.
Lift the colour of this knit by wearing a bright roll-neck underneath.
Alexa Chung in Patchwork
Style Notes: Trust Alexa to bring back patchwork jumpers and make them cool. We predict a huge resurgence of this trend after seeing this look.
Stacey Dooley in a Knitted Tracksuit
Style Notes: By now you should know how obsessed we are here at Who What Wear UK with Stacey Dooley's style. Somehow she manages to make this grey knit tracksuit look effortlessly chic.
Kendall Jenner in Checkerboard
Style Notes: Kendall Jenner was one of the first to bookmark checkerboard as a need-to-know trend this season. Follow her lead by wearing it in jumper form.
Prefer monochromatic palettes? This also comes in classic black and white.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Fuzzy Textures
Style Notes: A Brit girl at heart, Rosie knows the importance of getting your knitwear right—even if she does reside in L.A. most of the time. And right now, she’s wearing fuzzy textures all the time.
Hailey Bieber in a Cable-Knit Jumper
Style Notes: Hailey schools us all on how to wear a cable-knit jumper with just a flash of midriff. Special mention for her on-point accessorising, too.
Naomie Harris in an Embellished Cardigan
Style Notes: Naomie takes the preppy-cardigan look and immediately makes it luxe with this Miu Miu number. Jazz yours up with pearls or crystal buttons.
Naomie’s Miu Miu cardigan now comes in this cooler-toned colourway.
Full-on embellishment feel a tad too much? Look for sparkly buttons instead.
Sienna Miller in a Long Cardigan
Style Notes: Who would have thought a cardigan could work so well over a fancy wrap dress? Well, Sienna, and that's why she's consistently one of our best dressed celebs.
Fearne Cotton in Colour Pop
Style Notes: You can always count on Fearne to make you smile with her outfits. She's just so great at pulling off colour and prints. We want this colour-block look in our wardrobes right now.
Kylie Jenner in a Jumper Dress
Style Notes: Rather understated for Kylie, but we're very into this minimalist bouclé knit dress look paired with tough black accessories.
Belted jumper dresses will help define your frame.
