Mango Just Collaborated With This French It Girl on a 10/10 Partywear Collection
We’re really being spoiled with top-tier high-street collaborations at the moment. Last week saw & Other Stories pair up with über-cool designer A.W.A.K.E. Mode, and Mango’s latest collection with Camille Charrière—French It girl, original influencer and all-round modern-day style icon—launched today. Tapping into the excitement around the upcoming party season, her 60-piece, limited-edition edit is full of sparkle and velvet, with more than a sprinkle of '90s and noughties nostalgia added in for good measure.
We’re talking wedge heels, satin slip skirts, fluffy collars and plenty of naked dresses that a young Kate Moss would no doubt approve of. So yes, this is partywear but with all the understated cool factor of those decades when low-rise jeans and a nice top were red carpet appropriate. All of this is unsurprising since Charrière has been championing this high-low nostalgic aesthetic (as seen on her Instagram feed) for years—going from all-out glam to low-key grunge with ease. She says of the collection, "It’s very much a curation of what I already own and wear on a regular basis. It is the essence of my style. We even included a version of the dress I wore at my wedding reception.” So fans of her wardrobe, ready your wallets.
We're particularly obsessed with the outerwear (something we already know Mango does incredibly well), and predict the more versatile pieces will fly first—like the long coats that perfectly balance out sparkly minidresses but work just as well with jeans and knits for daytime, too. As a minimalist who never likes to be too dressed up, I've got my eye on the strappy heels, which I plan on wearing with the jeans from the collection, as well as the classic shirt. Nevertheless, I can see myself being tempted by the beautiful knitted maxi dress or velvet suit for more extravagant occasions. As an aside, it does feel remiss not to mention the sizing—it's relatively limited across the collection, and it's disappointing not to see the pieces extending into more diverse sizes. Even more so as Mango has impressed us with this in the past.
Keep scrolling, and below, you’ll find our top picks from the edit, all available to shop now. Although, probably not for long if Camille’s army of followers has anything to do with it…
