When news broke earlier this year that famed British Vogue Editor in Chief Alexandra Shulman was stepping down from her role after more than 25 years, it left people wondering who would fill her shoes. Well, after this morning, people won't have to wonder any longer.
Shulman will be passing the baton to Edward Enninful, who will take the helm starting August 1. Prior to this announcement, Enninful was the fashion and creative director at W magazine, and he has quite the fashion pedigree.
He won the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, and he's even had his work acknowledged by the British monarchy, which made Enninful OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) last October. And as you might expect from any respected and well-connected industry insider, he brought supermodel—and friend—Naomi Campbell as his date to the event.
Condé Nast International chairman and Chief Executive Jonathan Newhouse said in a statement that "by virtue of his talent and experience, Edward is supremely prepared to assume the responsibility of British Vogue." We've got to agree with him there.
We're excited to see the great things Enninful will accomplish in his new role. If you're working on your own career development, take a look below at some office-ready fashions that could help.
