The 2 Shoe Styles Taking Over Every Fashion Girl's Closet

Allyson Payer

Every season, there seems to be a pair of shoes so ubiquitous that every street style star worth her weight in footwear owns and treks to all of the shows in them. This year, there were two very different go-tos.

First seen on the F/W 15 runways, Chanel’s cap-toe slingback pumps have made their way onto the feet of the fashion set. The ladylike, supremely flattering heels are a throwback style for the brand, with a similar style first produced in 1957. We love the timelessness and versatility of the Parisian-inspired shoes, and it’s worth noting that many street style stars chose to dress them down.

Gucci’s shoes of the season are the fur-lined Princetown slippers. The loafer-mule hybrids feature the trademark horse-bit detail from the brand’s classic loafers and make a statement with the excess fur surrounding the foot. Most of the fashion girls featured below kept their outfits relaxed, in keeping with the fun, whimsical vibe of the shoes.
