These 18 Shoes Will Make Any Outfit Look More Polished
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t own a pair of strappy black heels? I own at least three pairs, and I’d bet my life that every single one of my friends has a pair in her closet as well. We certainly keep an eye on the daring new trends that crop up on Instagram, but when we’re getting ready to go out, our classic black strappy heels are our go-to.
The twist for A/W 18? These days it’s pairs with multiple thin straps that are making the most impact. We’re slowly moving away from the basic ankle-and–toe strap style in favour of strappier, skinnier styles. As for the brands we’ve got our eye on, Givenchy, Aquazzura and Isabel Marant’s have versions currently have us re-evaluating our monthly spending.
Wearing a killer pair of black strappy heels requires a sassy Carrie Bradshaw kind of strut, but if (like me) you resemble Bambi on ice when you slip on a pair of stilettos, you’ll lean towards block-heel options. Jacquemus plays with geometric shapes with his Les Rond Carré applique slingbacks, and Charles & Keith, Topshop and River Island have closely followed suit with structured block heels that add a modern twist.
That being said, if there’s just one splurge you make this season, get your hands on the black seriously sparkly Amina Muaddi shoes. After departing her role as creative director of Oscar Tiye, Amina has just launched her own shoe brand, and it’s definitely one to know. Take a look at just some of the styles we’ve spotted our favourite fashion girls wearing, and then shop our picks.
