“Red feels powerful, and it’s a trend I want to start wearing immediately. It’s a little perverse in patent leather—why not?” — Kat Collings, editor in chief
“We’ve seen the corset trend basically explode this season—spotting the look on just about every fashion girl imaginable. And rightfully so—adding the unexpected accessory makes any outfit feel that much cooler. While we’ll continue to see corsets crop up in the coming months, extra-wide belts will enter the market in a major way come fall, as we saw on the runways of everyone from Monse to Brock Collection to Isabel Marant.” — Bobby Schuessler, editorial director
“I’m definitely not opposed to the glittery boot trend that was endorsed by Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Isabel Marant. I love pairing flashy shoes with basics, and this trend will absolutely satisfy the magpie in me. Plus, they’re quite Instagram-worthy.” — Allyson Payer, editor
“Plaid will be the new neutral this fall, with brands like Gucci and Tory Burch backing the checkered print, we’re sure to see the trend more than ever this fall. I’m testing out plaid this spring by adding this adorable one-shoulder top by Rosie Assoulin to my wardrobe.” — Michelle Scanga, managing editor
“Exposed bra tops are still going strong for fall, and they are proving to be a cool, versatile layering piece. I’ll be trying everything from a knit version to the leather bustier style.” — Kristen Nichols, Associate Editor
“While athleisure will always have a place in my heart, I love the feminine details—like sweet florals and ruffles—that made an appearance on the runway.” — Aemilia Madden, editor
“I can’t say I’ve ever been a suits kind of girl, but the F/W 17 runway was enough to convince me it’s worth a spin. And especially so, considering all the gorgeous, unconventional takes on the timely trend seen at Monse, Rosie Assoulin, and 3.1 Phillip Lim. To start getting into the spirit, I'll add this oversize gingham Reformation blazer to my closet for spring.” — Gina Marinelli, senior news editor
“I’m so excited about socks and heels because there are so many different ways to wear the trend. You can go with pumps, sandals, sheer socks, glitter socks, embellished ones, and I think you get the point, but to sum it up, there’s a combination for every mood, occasion, outfit—and then some.” — Nicole Akhtarzad, market editor
“From orange ankle boots to blue high-heeled sandals, Tibi showcased a ton of satin shoe options on the runway—and I’m into all of them. For my own closet, I’m excited to try Dear Frances’ versions, as they have the perfect low block heel and unique lavender color.” — Erin Fitzpatrick, news editor
“One of my favorite trends we saw come down the fall runway was feathers. I love the way designers like J.W.Anderson, Prada, and Koche really transformed everything from pants to lengthier camisoles with this flighty (get it?) adornment. I am loving these delicate feathers as trim on dresses, as it adds a fresh elegance, as well as this sweatshirt, which to me, makes it edgier in an odd way.” — Lauren Eggertsen, associate editor
