6 Summer Trends Everyone Will Wear in 2022

With summer nearly upon us and summer holidays on my mind, I've been thinking a lot about what fashion will look like for the season ahead and the items that will end up in my suitcase. Looking at the fashion set, there are already a number of trends that have momentum behind them. Pieces like sporty sunglasses, which may have seemed niche last season, are already taking over but are truly primed to have an even bigger moment this summer.

I've also been studying the runways and predict there are trends from both the spring/summer 2022 and fall/winter 2022 that will be in the spotlight this summer. Immediately, the white logo tank from Prada's fall collection comes to mind. While that particular piece may not be dropping until fall, there are cool versions on the market right now from brands such as Fendi and Marine Serre if you want to be an early adopter of the trend. Ahead, I'm diving into more summer fashion trends that everyone will wear in 2022.

Chanel brought back '90s-inspired swimwear on its S/S 22 runway, and it made a huge impact.

Shopper Bags

The big-bag trend continues to get reinvented each season. The latest take? Big shopper bags—a silhouette that is much more wearable than the XXL bags from previous collections.

Zoë Kravitz has already embraced the trend, wearing the just-dropped Icare Maxi Shopper Bag from Saint Laurent.

Knee-High Boots

While knee-high boots might seem like an unexpected trend for summer, get ready to see them everywhere. In particular, Balenciaga's Cagole Boots are already proving to be in huge demand.

"Naked" Fashion

Barely there pieces with cutouts, gauzy fabrics, and floss straps are one of the defining trends this year that will continue into summer thanks in part to Nensi Dojaka, who has mastered the aesthetic.

It doesn't get more summer 2022 than "naked" fashion pieces.
