Trust Me: This Classic Coat Trend Makes Every Winter Outfit Look Fabulous

Is it just me, or has leopard print never looked better? Whilst any editor will argue that a leopard-print coat is a wardrobe staple akin to a leather jacket or a pair of black boots, this OTT coat style has spent the past few years laying low and out of the spotlight, preparing to pounce once again. And this season, we've all fallen prey to this fashion predator. Influencers, editors, models and designers are all gravitating towards the rich-looking print to elevate their winter looks with the lavish touch that only leopard print can impart.

The runways have become increasingly saturated with this timeless print in recent seasons. Whilst some experimented with leopard-print shoes or bags, others—to our elation—went all out, delivering the leopard-print coats we'd been waiting to see. From longline styles at MSGM and Dior to cropped, fluffy coats spotted at Giorgio Armani, Celine and APC, the shows were rife with this revived winter trend.

Leopard-print coats have dipped in and out of favour for more seasons than we can count—meaning that second-hand sites like Vinted are brimming with brilliant vintage iterations, so it's well worth a look if you're considering buying in.

If you want to shop a new-season style, lavish versions are already available at so many of our favourite brands. Rixo's popular Milly coat (£485) is a firm favourite in the Who What Wear UK office, but designers such as Dodo Bar Or and Halfboy have classic furry designers that we're keen to get our hands on too. On the more affordable end of the scale, French favourite Sézane and high-street hero Whistles both offer chic shorter versions that are also trending.

Across the board, designers and shoppers alike are shaking free of the "clean girl" aesthetic that dominated for so long, in favour of something a little more loud and daring. If you too are compelled to wrap up in leopard, read on to discover our edit of the best leopard-print coats to shop this season.
