The Ugg Boot Is Officially Back, According to Vogue

The image above is of Blake Lively on the set of Gossip Girl in 2011. There she is in all her glory: pre-marriage, pre-baby, pre-Preserve, and, of course, wearing her on-trend Ugg boots. Back then, celebrities were always out and about in their Uggs, and the Australian boots were on every stylish girl's wishlist. Now, after a brief style hiatus, according to the powers that be at Vogue, they're back, baby!

In "The Return of the Ugg Boot," editors at the world's foremost fashion magazine make their case: "In the last month, how many times have you declined to step into your razzle-dazzle heels and opted for a pair of Uggs instead? Once? Twice? Or perhaps like fashion's coterie of Ugg revivalists, which includes Pixie Geldof, Ashley Williams (and some of the Vogue team), you didn't take yours off once over the Christmas break," editors Laura Weir and Julia Hobbs argue. "Isn't it time that we embraced our guiltiest fashion pleasure?" (Um, yes.)

They even offer five styling tips on how to make Uggs chic, including but not limited to: wearing no makeup, not opting for that other '90s style staple the track pant, and wearing them with vintage dresses and chunky knits. "Think throwback, grungy San Francisco style," explain the writers.

So, what say you? Are Ugg boots officially back in style—and were they ever really out? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
