Prediction: This Is How Everyone Will Wear Pink in 2017

Have fashion people been telling you to "think pink" for some time now? The phrase—lifted from the highly stylish 1950s flick Funny Face—shifted into overdrive a while ago, around the time that M&S had an insane purchasing frenzy around one particular blush-hued coat. The hue has since staked its continued claim on our closets, our makeup routines, our decor and by proxy (and perhaps most frequently of all) our Instagram feeds.

Not long ago did a simple Ganni sweater take over the social media platform in all its candy-floss cable-knit glory. Then came a slew of #OOTDs that didn't necessarily share clothing choices in common but did feature backdrops in a spectrum of fuchsia, blush and flamingo. Now? Well, style-aware girls are tagging #plantsonpink.

This hashtag alone has notched up over 15k posts and prompted the creation of its own dedicated account (with over 60k followers), but the concept stretches further than just plants on pink—this colour match made in heaven has already infiltrated the minds of designers…

Burberry and Marques' Almeida were just two of the Brit brands that experimented with the colour combination.

Even the briefest trawl through the new season's runways proves the formula of rich greens set against pretty pinks is on trend, according to the powers that be: Burberry, Gucci, Rochas… the list goes on. So there's a very bright S/S 17 season ahead, and Pantone did name "greenery" as its number one colour for 2017. If you weren't convinced on the prediction before, this should seal the deal and provide you with a way to tap into it.
