I like to approach the frenzy of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales with a calm and steady mind, preparing ahead of time with a list of what I actually need and then doing my due diligence to filter through everything before (panic) committing to a decision. So far over the week leading up to Black Friday (and yes, the whole month is being called Black November in some corners of the internet) we've seen a heap of high street stores offer their discounts (I have to admit, COS's sale offering is particularly strong), designer e-commerce sites such as Net-A-Porter share their reductions and beauty e-tailers such as John Lewis have deals on cult-adored items that are worth buying any day of the year, full-price too! I'm following a less-is-more kind of sales strategy, so when one is faced with over 20,000 items on sale at ASOS the word overwhelming doesn't even cut it.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday weekend is an annual sale shopping event that originated in the US. It marks the end of Thanksgiving and the start of the festive shopping season, resulting in the majority of well-known—and even, in recent years, smaller—brands and retailers heading into a period sale for a full four days.

When does Black Friday 2025 end?

In 2025, Cyber Monday lands on Monday 1 December, and we expect this to be the final day of sales for the Black Friday Weekend.

But have no fear, my edit is here! To decipher what's worth checking out in ASOS's gargantuan Black Friday sale—where almost everything is 70% off—I have filtered through the lot to bring you a concise list of the items that have the power to stand up for many seasons to come and look the most premium.

What Should I Buy in the ASOS Black Friday sale?

1. It's good to consider what ASOS is best for at any time of the year, discounted or not. Their in-house premium lines such as ASOS Luxe and ASOS Edition feature pieces with a more trend-led angle and in better-quality fabrics. As such the price points are normally higher than your average ASOS item and therefore a good idea to look out for when discounted. Although there are some real gems to be found in ASOS Design, so don't entirely overlook this section.

2. Additionally, it's worth remembering that ASOS is home to some a host of brands such as Levi's, adidas, UGG, Dr Martens and New Balance. It's also worth checking in if your favourited items at Mango or Stradivarius have sold out directly because they also stock external European high street labels like these. And then let's not forget Topshop—it's been easy to overlook this brand for a while now but I've been saying all season that it looks to be back on form and I type this story while wearing a pair of cool Topshop knee-boots that I've been eyeing up for weeks now and finally arrived yesterday!

3. Whatever brand you're tapping always keep in mind our golden shopping rules of choosing the right size, opting for items with staying power (avoid silly throwaway trends and cheap fabrics) and buying something that speaks to your personal style and is something you will definitely get plenty of wear out of. With all of that in mind, take a look at my concise edit of ASOS Black Friday items that are worth considering.
