This "Daring" Spring Dress Trend Is a Favorite in the Celeb Crowd
When it comes to dresses, there are basically two silhouettes that are ruling spring 2020, and both are on opposite ends of the spectrum. There are the eye-catching midi styles that are often worn over trousers for a forward look. And on the flip side, it’s the more "daring” minidresses with the bold and striking length that are also making waves throughout the fashion world. In reference to the latter, the shorter cut hit the S/S 20 runways hard as designers from Versace to Balmain showcased a range of iterations including reimagined mini LBDs and sharp blazer dresses. Celebrities have also caught onto this dress trend. Kendall Jenner, for example, recently wore a cool black dress with a longline trench coat out and about during fashion month.
Interested in testing out this adventurous look this season? Keep scrolling for a bit of celebrity style inspiration showcasing why a minidress might be worth a go in your night-out rotation. Naturally, you can also shop each inspired look as well. Go on and make that statement.
On Kendall Jenner: Reformation Mini Dress ($128); Materiel coat; Velvet Canyon sunglasses; Dorateymur boots
While the black minidress would work on its own, the longline trench brought even more dimension to this look.
On Hailey Bieber: Saint Laurent ensemble
Nothing says "party time” more than an embellished minidress and heels. Chillier outside? Toss on a duster jacket as well.
On Emily Ratajkowski: Versace ensemble
Blazer dresses (especially those in electric hues) are becoming a mainstay in the wardrobes of the chicest celebs like with this outfit teamed with strappy sandals.
On Selena Gomez: Patou dress; Aquazzura Platform Sandals ($950)
An off-the-shoulder minidress in a pastel hue feels particularly modern with open-toe sandals for an event.
On Kourtney Kardashian: Prada shoes
A pair of chunky moto boots or shoes tones down a mini-LBD ensemble and gives off a cool vibe.
On Yara Shahidi: Gucci dress and Marmont Bag ($2290)
You’ll turn heads in an instant by opting for a metallic minidress and trendy knee-high boots.
