It's Here: The Frenchest Way to Wear Fall 2026's Coolest Denim Trend
Shop the specific type of low-rise jeans, the tank, and the shoes Gigi Hadid wore to get the look.
If you're ever unsure about how to style a certain trend but know that you want to look chic and effortless, simply ask yourself how a French woman would wear it. I'm pretty sure that Gigi Hadid doesn't get stumped about how to style things all that often, but perhaps she was inspired by the French when choosing the jeans outfit she wore in Paris last week during Haute Couture Week.
The denim trend in question is no-waistband jeans. The low-rise jeans come either frayed or finished at the top—some with belt loops, some with a drawstring, and some with just a button. You'll find them in all silhouettes and washes, but Hadid went with a relaxed-fitting straight-leg pair that appears to be finished with black trim. When I declare that she styled them in the "Frenchest" of ways, I mean with a boatneck tank and slingback block heels, both of which are longtime French-girl favorites. No-waistband jeans may not be a denim trend you'd typically associate with French-girl style, but the French have a way of styling pretty much any trend in their typical classic, elegant way.
Cool brands such as Still Here, Reformation, and Agolde have leaned into the no-waistband, low-rise look this year, and I predict the popularity will only rise come fall aka denim season. Keep scrolling to add a pair to your collection before everyone else does as the new season draws nearer.
