I recently spent a weekend in NYC, one of my favorite places to people-watch with fashion trends in mind. I spotted one outfit combination, in particular, on just about every street corner from Midtown to the Lower East Side that gives major French-girl vibes. The look features three of fall 2026's biggest trends: a long trench coat, loose jeans, and ballet pumps. Each trend just so happens to be available in chic abundance over at Nordstrom.

The combo is so easy and effortless that it's clear why it's a favorite among the city's fashion set.
