Meghan Markle and I Agree That This Controversial Trend Is Cool
It’s no secret that I’ve yet to (and likely never will) hop on the Meghan Markle bandwagon. Like I’ve said before, she’s fine and all, but of all the royals who’s style we stalk on a weekly basis, she’s just not my favorite. That’s why, when I recently noticed her step out in a pair of rather forward (and somewhat controversial) cow-print heels—a bubbling print trend I had already been planning to write about—I was admittedly taken aback.
Could it be that the duchess and I are actually on the same page for once? More importantly, this also seems to solidify my theory that cow print is most definitely on the up and up. With brands from Victoria Beckham and Manolo Blahnik to Topshop and Mango already offering it—and more to look forward to, such as this epic outfit from Tory Burch’s pre-fall collection set to launch later this year—cow print seems to be the freshest way to continue iterating on the animal-print craze right now, and I’m all for it.
To see how Meghan Markle and I both wore the trend, plus how some our favorite girls on Instagram do, and to shop the trend for yourself, just keep scrolling.
I have to admit that these (sold-out) Gianvito Rossi heels are pretty epic.
A closer look.
Similar to Meghan, I also styled my cow-print piece (Staud’s Nic bag) with an otherwise simple outfit, adding Western-inspired boots for a complimentary touch.
A better view of the bag’s striking print.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2020, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch 90 Day Fiancé.
