Suddenly, Every Celebrity Is Getting This Short Haircut Again
From Emma Stone to Gracie Abrams, this is the hairstyle the stars can't get enough of right now.
If there's one haircut mood that has been making a resurgence lately, it's short-hair trends. From the bob hairstyle to the pixie, we've seen just about every version of short hair come back in 2026. But clearly, the appetite for short hair isn't going anywhere any time soon. In fact, we're now seeing two of 2026's biggest hair trends combine: The "bixie" haircut.
What Is the Bixie Haircut?
"The pixie runs parallel with other haircuts such as the bob and is a timeless haircut that can be adapted to so many face shapes and hair textures," says Marlon Hawkins, Brooks & Brooks artistic director and guest artist for L’Oréal Professionnel. So what exactly is the bixie haircut? The bixie combines both the bob and pixie, with short, choppy layers that sit close to the head and longer sections that skim the nape of the neck, and it gives so much flexibility to style. "There are many different variations you can take with a pixie, keeping length in areas or cropping them in," says Hawkins.
Don’t underestimate how versatile this haircut can be. "The pixie haircut continues to be an on-trend haircut because it never looks the same on two people and can be styled differently," he adds.

However, if you're thinking about going for the chop, it's worth considering how to style this short haircut. "This doesn’t necessarily mean more effort or time; it’s switching up your products to curl-defining lotions, wax sprays or powders," says Hawkins. "One of my hero products is L’Oréal Professionnel’s Techni Art Pli Shaper (£23) to set the hair, working with natural air drying to enhance the beauty of the hair’s texture."
