Sorry, But It's Urgent: These 5 Trends Must Get Into My Closet
After two years of barely doing any shopping, I may or may not be in the middle of a revenge-buying period. With warm weather on the horizon, I have been keeping my eye on the summer trends to see what grabs my attention most. The truth is I have become somewhat akin to a puppy that runs to and loves just about everything. It doesn’t help that as a fashion editor, I am exposed to the gamut of what’s available at the moment—there are so many options.
If I had to narrow it down, I would focus most on certain updated basics like denim Bermuda shorts and then throw in some whimsical trends like the latest party heels (think transparent styles with embellishments) and bold, printed short-sleeve button-down shirts. (These give me elevated-Hawaiian-shirt vibes.) I’m also very much feeling the Coastal Grandma look, so I can’t forget some chic summer hats. Keep scrolling to shop the five trends I want in my closet stat.
1. Cutout Dresses
Shop:
This option is perfect for getting Chrissy Rutherford's look above.
This black cutout dress can be worn everywhere from brunch to date night.
This minimalist white style is one of my favorites this summer.
2. Party Heels
Shop:
Two trends going on here: transparent vinyl and embellished details.
These pink beauties would look great with a tee and jeans or a cool dress.
3. Printed Short-Sleeve Button-Down Shirts
Shop:
Here's the latest color option for the same top that Lucy Williams is wearing above.
Bode is having a major moment, and this shirt is too cool.
Looks vintage, but the fit is 100% current.
4. Raffia Summer Hats
Shop:
The rim of this hat can be style in a variety of ways.
You can't go wrong with this embellished investment hat—it will be worn for years to come.
5. Denim Bermuda Shorts
This slim white option can easily be dressed up or down.
