The Outfits We're Stealing From NYC Girls This Winter

Prepping our wardrobes for winter weather doesn’t have to mean compromising our stylish sensibilities. The way we see it, every layer added into the mix presents the opportunity to make things even more personalized. Thankfully this season brought us a chic array of statement pieces perfect for casual dressing—namely timeless leather watches (like our favorites from Nixon). Just look at the casual-cool outfits Christina Caradona has been wearing recently for proof. In fact, we asked the NYC-based Trop Rouge blogger to snap her looks throughout a recent weekend day in the city to get a little outfit inspiration we can easily re-create ourselves.

Sometimes we need a little reminder that leggings and a sweatshirt aren’t the only casual outfit options we have for early morning errands. Caradona’s layered knits make this look just as comfortable as any athleisure ensemble—the ankle-grazing trousers and structured crossbody give that little bit of added polish.

We also couldn’t help but notice the way Caradona styled her watch over her long sleeve. We’ve been seeing the fashion set rock the accessory like this as of late, and to say we’re into it would be a definite understatement.

For a little personal time in the West Village spent catching up on emails and reading a book, Caradona switches into jeans, a loose button-down, and a pinstriped blazer. Her lived-in leather watch and on-trend beret are what make this classic outfit feel fresh and modern. This look is definitely making it into our workday wardrobe rotation next week.

We love the way Caradona effortlessly cuffed her sleeves for that imperfect look that doesn’t feel like she tried too hard. It’s also a great way to show off the stylish timepiece on her wrist.

The holidays are all about turning up the sparkle and shine, which is exactly what Caradona did for her festive dinner party look. An otherwise fancy metallic skirt feels ultra-modern when paired with a chunky oversize turtleneck, as do her classic Mary Janes when paired with on-trend ankle socks.

Caradona’s making a strong case for owning a watch that’s chic enough to take your look from everyday to evening. Adding a gold bangle to her wrist makes a statement, which she notes brings out the shiny metal on her watch. PS: We’re also loving how the bright handle of Caradona’s black mini bag picks up the pop of color in her skirt.
