Whether you like it or not, we are all growing up and entering new seasons of life. From getting your very first job to having your first child to retiring, there are certain pieces you should have in your wardrobe to best accommodate those times—and of course those pieces should be as fashionable and as chic as possible.
Although we are categorizing these trends and items according to age, always invest in and wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and confident. When push comes to shove, you should wear what you like—we are just here to suggest pieces that we love for these specific age groups. From pretty pink hues to statement slides, there is a little something in here for everyone.
Keep scrolling to see what trend you should be investing in based on your age group!
20s: Pretty Pinks
Pink has been popping up all over the place thanks to the S/S 17 runways, and while this color would be great for women of all ages, we particularly love the hue for girls in their 20s as it screams youthfulness and fun.
30s: Leopard Print
Leopard is a timeless print that, again, we believe can be worn at any age, but as you enter into your 30s, use this print to prove to the world that exiting your 20s won’t bring you down. Leopard print is great due to the fact that it won’t go out of style, is appropriate for work, and tends to make you feel a bit feistier than usual.
40s: Reworked Shirts
Luckily, this trend has stuck around for a while because it is so incredibly easy to wear. Whether it be a statement button-down, cutout shoulder situation, or both, reworked shirts have the ability to show off your best assets at any age, sans looking like you’re trying too hard.
50s: Forward Denim
Jeans aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and neither are you, so live a little and invest in denim that is a little more interesting than your typical pair. We love styles with step hems, mismatched pockets, and different washes spliced together.
60s: Statement Slides
The best thing about a great pair of flat statement slides is that they can be the saving grace to an otherwise simple outfit minus the effort. Whether you are addicted to wearing all black or love layering multiple statement accessories, this is one shoe style that will bring a smile to your face no matter what, and that's something we can get behind.
70s: Checks & Plaids
Okay, so plaid and checked prints have been around forever, but they are having a major moment right now, and that means no age is excluded. Since the pattern naturally has a more mature and crisp aesthetic to it, we feel it's particularly well suited to a woman who has years of beautiful life under her belt, but hey, if you're an 18-year-old, you can wear it too—there are no rules here!
