Here's How Fashion Girls Are Styling Their Hair Right Now

I don't know about you, but right about now I find myself gravitating towards any uplifting distractions amidst the present unnerving news cycle—especially in the self-care department. There's no question that I've taken a more lackadaisical approach to my beauty and hair regime (given my new work from home reality), but that's not to say I'm not craving a little hairspiration to get me motivated and feeling an ounce of normality again.

Luckily, the street style set during fashion month (along with Instagram) has provided us with a plethora of cool and trending hairstyles that are easy to re-create yourself with the right tools and product. Below, I'm sharing some of the coolest ways that fashion girls are styling their hair right now. Shop the must-have products to achieve the look.

Braid Brigade

We spotted braids all over the spring 2020 runways, and fashion girls have been quick to take on the trend with pretty, polished grown-up plaits held together with seamless hair ties.

Achieve the look:

70's-Inspired

There's no doubt the '70s inspired many a runway show—and hair unquestionably got the retro touch too. Fashion girls have been leaning into this '70s retro look, with everything from textured shaggy waves, afros, and retro bangs dominating right now.

Achieve the look:

Drop It Low

Sometimes, you just want to tie your hair back. This season, we're seeing ponytails and buns tied low at the nape. Some were pulled tight and tied with minimalist hair ties while others had a more relaxed undone aesthetic.

The Wet Look

Chic and shiny slicked-back hair has been a favorite style among the fashion set this season, and it's an empowering look that can easily be achieved no matter what your hair length. All you need is a generous amount of hair gel combed through from root to tip with a fine-tooth comb or boar-bristle brush, a glossing spray, and a shine-enhancing hair spray to hold it all together.

Extra Long

It seems like everyone is growing their hair long this season. Yes, there are plenty of short and sleek blunt bobs out there, but what really caught our eye is the extra-long hairstyles worn as loose, nonchalant waves. Think air-drying your hair rather than a big blowout.
