Rihanna and Kendall Jenner Got the Memo on October's #1 Accessory

Given the subtle change in the weather, October routinely calls for a little sartorial creativity. You don't need to bundle up just yet, but you probably need to add an extra layer or two. Which is why a certain accessory comes in handy, as we recently discussed—cool socks. And both Kendall Jenner and Rihanna just showed that they're on board. Jenner Instagrammed a shot of herself wearing the current It sneakers (Vans Old Skools) with on-trend fishnet socks. Rihanna's take featured another trending fabric—velvet, in the form of Balenciaga's sock-boot hybrid, which resembles dark blue–patent leather pumps over a pair of velvet socks (Rihanna also loved her look enough to Instagram it.)

The street style set has been donning cool socks with every type of shoe for several seasons now, and the celebrity endorsements solidify even further that the affordable accessory is a must this fall.
