7 Slimming Rules You Can Learn from Street Style
Everyone knows that a pair of heels will instantly make you look and feel slimmer, but what other clever styling tricks exist to help you look and feel your best? That's where we come in. There are certain pieces that can highlight the areas you want to highlight, or work in reverse to disguise the parts you don't.
They're the items (or styling tricks) you can rely on when you're having a 'blah' day (like when you've skipped the gym or had one too many burgers over the weekend). It's easy to reach for the same outfits every day, but sometimes you need that 'lift'. We've studied some of our favourite street style moments from fashion month, to show you the slimming tricks you can learn from each.
Take note of these tips, and you'll be ready for your own street style moment. Keep scrolling!
Choosing a voluminous skirt or dress, is the fastest way to slim down your legs. The key to making it work? Opt for a style that sits above the knee.
Everyone knows heels immediately make you feel slimmer, but a low-vamp doubles the effect. A low-v on a pair of pumps will make your legs look even longer. Superpowers!

Leaving a bulky shirt hanging over your jeans can add excess weight. Tuck it in at the front, and you'll immediately give the illusion of a flatter tummy.
An uneven hemline (as in one that goes 'up' in the middle), will lengthen the legs, creating that magical slimming effect. (Why weren't we all just born with long supermodel pins?).

It might sound crazy, but cut-outs in all the right places helps draw focus to your best bits. If you're all about your waist, opt for cut-outs in the mid-section. If shoulders are your favourite part, go for a cold-shoulder top.
We've been highlighting our waists for years, but gone are the days of 'cinching in' with a skinny belt. Now, it's all about the corset belt. It will create a smooth line, and can be belted over everything from an oversized shirt, to a slip dress.
When all else fails, black-on-black is your easiest choice. You'll always feel sleek, and pulled together. Black has a slimming effect, and if you opt for structured pieces (like a blazer, tailored pants, pencil dress), the effects are doubled.
