The Only Pair of Shoes I Love More Than Stilettos

I'll let you in on a little secret: While I do love a good pair of stilettos (especially an of-the-moment white pair), I'd gladly give them up any day for a pair of comfortable yet stylish loafers. This may induce shrieks and head-shakes from true heels-only fashion girls, but I've got good reasons for declaring loafers hands down the best shoes out there.

Chief among them, the silhouette works with essentially everything in your wardrobe. Need to polish up a denim skirt? Pair it with a crisp white button-down and G.H. Bass & Co. Weejuns loafer. That pantsuit you've had hanging in your closet? Loafers all the way. I'm not saying I'll give up my stilettos for good (that would be blasphemy), but I am saying you'll likely find me in loafers nine times out of 10.

Are you into flat shoes too? Keep scrolling to see my favorites and snag a pair for yourself.

These black-and-white loafers are the easiest way to polish up an outfit on a day where you have a presentation and need to look presentable (but don't want to hobble around in stilettos). Wear these with cigarette-leg pants for the chicest ensemble.

In case you haven't heard, white shoes are everything right now. These vanilla loafers are just the thing to instantly refresh your wardrobe, and they're versatile enough to transition you through seasons. Basically, they'll never go out of style.

Another color I can't get enough of at the moment? Red. These burnt-red loafers elevate an all-black ensemble and add a pop of color that doesn't feel too OTT.

Metallics are going to take us right into 2018, so I'm grabbing these rose gold loafers stat. If you're feeling ultra-courageous, these will work for drinks at a more casual bar.

Slip-on patent loafers are my saving grace on days where I need to get out the door in 10 minutes but still look chic. The slipper style has gained momentum, and opting for a patent finish makes the silhouette feel a little more grown-up.

Finally, to keep black loafers from looking too plain or boring, I'm going for this fun pair with gold star cutouts. These are ideal for making a statement and feels like a designer pair (without the high price tag).
