This Trend Used to Make Me Cringe, But Now I'm Obsessed With It
Jumpsuits are one of those trends that I never thought I could personally pull off. I’ve tried them on in the past but always felt like I was wearing some kind of costume instead of an outfit I could confidently walk around in. Recently, that all changed. I think the mental shift happened because of all of the cool looks I’ve been spotting on the fashion set. With fresh approaches to styling that incorporate pieces like chunky boots and animal-print heels, the outfits just look so chic.
My obsession with jumpsuits can also be attributed to the new styles we’re seeing in the market right now. Instead of the tight silhouettes that were popular in past seasons, we’re now seeing utility jumpsuits with wide legs and long sleeves that are finished with details like cargo pockets and belted waists. These pieces fit into the larger movement towards relaxed tailoring that has been popularized this year. Ahead, see how 10 jumpsuit outfit ideas to try out, starting with a few of my own.
How I'm Wearing Jumpsuits:

While I normally wouldn't think to pair a jumpsuit with heels, I adopted this styling trick after seeing it on the street style scene. I think it instantly adds a more polished element to the look.

Similar to adding a pair of heels, a polished bag is another way to dress up a jumpsuit. I love the contrast of the utility piece with this classic bag.

If you want to tap into one of the biggest shoe trends of the season, just add a pair of chunky boots to your jumpsuit outfit. Look for a pair with thick soles and a slim shaft to replicate the chic look here.

Want to add an element of fun? Add accessories that are finished in bold shades like the purple bag and yellow heels worn here by Emili Sindlev.

I think sunglasses are a key accessory for any look and can really transform what you're wearing. Case in point? The shield sunglasses here that lend a cool '80s vibe.

In my opinion, you simply can't go wrong with a monochrome look. Adding a black leather bag to this piece, and you're all set.

Boots are the transformative piece that fashion people always rely on to add dimension to their outfits. With a jumpsuit that has wide legs, look for a slim ankle boot that is designed with a luxe faux-croc finish.

Don't forget the jewelry. Most of the jumpsuits I'm seeing on the market have a buttoned or zipped front, so layering some necklaces is the perfect way to highlight your neckline.

You can never go wrong by adding some fun prints to a neutral piece. Here, Lisa Aiken shows just how transformative a pair of animal-print heels are when worn with a camel jumpsuit.

Another great styling trick? Tucking the legs of the jumpsuit into a pair of knee-high boots. We saw this trend pop up last year with trousers, but this is another cool iteration of it.
