*Not* a Naked Dress—Zendaya's Equally Sexy (But More Elegant) Dress Will Be at Every Summer Wedding
It's not often that Zendaya gets put on our outfit mood board. And it's not because her looks aren't good. If anything they are more than good. They are incredible, perfect, and showstopping. But they are often not attainable for us mere mortals who don't have access to the biggest ateliers for the chicest custom creation or the most expansive of vintage archives for wearable fashion history. That is exactly why it is worth getting excited when Zendaya pulls a look that we could feasibly try to re-0create.
While at the premiere for her latest film, The Drama, in Rome, Zendaya wore a low-cut black Armani Privé gown that was borrowed from Cate Blanchett. And while we're not saying any of us can just borrow a dress from Cate Blanchett, we do think it's possible to channel the simple yet sexy energy of a deeply low-cut black gown.
Black dresses are a classic for a reason. They always look elegant and formal. They also make great default wedding guest looks if you aren't entirely sure what to wear for that exact reason. But Zendaya (and Cate) make us realize that small skin-bearing details like a deep-V cutout elevate the look to another realm. It's obviously sexier but in the coolest of ways.
So if Zendaya wants to lend us the dress Cate lent to her, we're here. But if not, there's plenty of other options out there that we're investing in now for our next formal affair.
