This Nostalgic French Perfume Just Became Even More Iconic, and It's About to Be on Everyone's Necks

Ask anyone to name the most iconic and classic perfumes of all time, and you can bet that Dior's Miss Dior will be up there. Originally launched in 1947, it's amongst fragrance's greats and is one of the best-known Dior perfumes next to J'adore and Poison, and one of the most-loved perfumes in the world today. But on a personal level, Miss Dior isn't just one of the most timeless fragrances, but a truly nostalgic perfume too. It was one of the first "grown-up" scents I owned, and I've seen many flanker versions of the floral perfume come and go over the years (during school in the late noughties, owning a bottle of Miss Dior Chérie meant you were that girl).

However, the original Miss Dior Eau de Parfum has just entered a new era in 2026, and I couldn't be more excited. I got my hands on a bottle of the newly formulated Miss Dior Eau de Parfum ahead of launch—scroll on for what you need to know about the new perfume.

What Does the New Miss Dior Eau de Parfum Smell Like?

The last reformulation of Miss Dior was in 2021, when the scent took on a honeyed, fruity and powdery interpretation, with iris, lily of the valley, apricot-like peony alongside Dior's rose centifolia (which is grown and harvested in Grasse, France) and musk.

The new formulation for 2026 features the distinctive DNA of Miss Dior, but instead features more gourmand notes, including vanilla, almond and tonka bean. The iconic Grasse rose remains, which is instantly recognisable, and is complemented with earthy patchouli, creamy sandalwood and rose wood. Comparing them side-by-side, the former is fruitier and peachy floral, whereas the latest version is distinctly more chypre (think mossy and earthy) and woody, with a smooth, creamy dry-down.

On the first spritz, you're met with that iconic peppery, honeyed rose, which is as soft as feeling the velvety petals between your fingertips in a bouquet. Supple woods come to the fore next, and, once it has dried down hours later, the smooth, comforting vanilla, subtle almond and creamy tonka bean reveal themselves more so, lingering close to the skin and making it feel familiar and nostalgic. In the days I've been wearing it ahead of the launch, I've been asked about it numerous times. It's an elegant perfume you can wear anywhere for any occasion, making it a versatile fragrance to have in your collection.

The New Miss Dior Bottle

It's not just the scent that's had a makeover. The bottle also has a new look for 2026, paying homage to Dior's couture heritage. The iconic Dior houndstooth motif now features on the ribbon tied around the neck, and you can even choose between different colours (I've got the iconic silver and white hue, but you can also choose between pale pink, denim blue, black and white or silver and pink) to customise your bottle and make it your own.

The ribbons are a work of art in themselves, too. Woven by the renowned Ateliers Faure, each ribbon features a special chain weaving technique, where the threads are crossed over 10,000 times per centimetre of ribbon alone. Whilst many of us might not be fortunate enough to own a piece of Dior haute couture in our wardrobes, this bottle allows you to own a piece of the house's craftsmanship on your dressing table. The houndstooth pattern is also found on the bottom of the bottle, with the embossing peeking through the pink fragrance in the glass bottle. In short, it has all the markings of a new classic scent, both inside and out.
