The Shoe Trends Everyone Will Wear to the Airport in 2019
You're probably busy thinking about holiday gift shopping, how to survive winter, and what to wear on New Year's Eve, and, okay, we've been thinking about those things too, but we're also busy thinking about all the shoe trends to come in 2019 (some new, some old). And since what shoes to wear to the airport is particularly intriguing to all of us, we're making our future predictions.
With 2019 literally right around the corner, we already know which shoe trends will be everywhere this spring, so we must admit that it wasn't that difficult to narrow it down. We went with seven trends that make a statement but that are practical enough to wear on travel days. We're happy to report that your feet have a lot to look forward to in 2019. Keep scrolling to shop the seven trends you're soon to see all over the terminals.
Combat Boots
While these celeb-favorite shoes may not look like they'd be much fun at airport security, many styles feature zippers for easy removal. We expect this trend to keep gaining steam once winter is in full swing.
Mary Janes
Chanel featured gorgeous Mary Janes in its Cruise 18/19 collection, so other brands are following suit. We're always looking for new flat-shoe styles to wear on travel days, and these ones are strong contenders.
Logo Shoes
Logomania will still be going strong in 2019. The beauty of this style is that it comes in so many different forms, so you can look cool wearing whatever shoe style strikes your fancy.
Western Shoes
Don't expect Western-inspired shoes to fade away after the ball drops—this trend is sticking around. The reason it's great for the airport is that the style is easy to slide on and off.
Nylon Velcro Sandals
Teva and Teva-inspired sandals flooded the S/S 19 runways. This "ugly" shoe trend is more than comfortable and easy enough to wear to the airport.
Oxford Shoes
If you're tired of loafers but want something with a similar vibe, it's time to start considering Oxfords again (celebrities already are). We recommend going with a pair with some character, like the below metallic-and–patent leather iterations.
Dad Sneakers
Dad sneakers aren't going quietly into the night just yet! In fact, there are more styles than ever to choose from, and at every price point. Plus, they're perfect with airport-approved leggings and skinny jeans.
