5 New Outfit Formulas We Discovered in 2019 That Will Take With Us Into 2020
Oh, how the fashion pendulum has swung from maximalism to minimalism this year! Where last year we saw head-to-toe animal print, 2019 was all about beige. Minimalistic shoes replaced ugly trainers. Simplicity, timelessness, and practicality reigned. It was a version of minimalism that still felt new and incorporated many unexpected elements. Though minimal, the fresh outfits ideas that emerged this year were far from boring. There was a refreshing wave of original looks popping up on our feeds this year, and they didn't feel overly "fashion" or unattainable on a budget. The new outfit formulas that emerged this year were excellent for a number of reasons.
Our favourite new outfits of the past year have been wearable in day-to-day life while they still pushed us out of our comfort zone. They worked for spring and easily translated into summer and autumn weather too. This didn't mean we disregarded our sense of adventure when it came to new looks; there was just less sartorial pressure to do so. The outfits that we loved the most have become our favourites to the point that will we not abandon them in the new year style refresh.
Keep scrolling to see and shop the five most stylish outfit ideas of 2019, as we imagine we'll be seeing a lot more from them next year.
