One of the biggest trends we’re expecting this fall is tailoring. Yes, tweeds and checked wools are officially cool and will be everywhere in just a few months, but the fashion-girl way to wear them might surprise you. We’re talking about skirt suits. Not only is the style a way to get in on the trend, but it doubles as an office-appropriate look to boot.
Net-a-Porter’s retail fashion director, Lisa Aiken, told Who What Wear, “The way we’re wearing tailoring this season has evolved hugely, and the trend has shaken off its very polished persona. Skirt suits are also coming back among trendsetters and are the best way to wear this trend while it’s still warm.”
The best way to wear it? Breathe new life into the look by layering a cool T-shirt underneath. Then, add a pair of minimal pointed flats, loafers, or even sneakers to finish off the look.
