Selena Gomez is making a brief return to acting in her latest film, In Dubious Battle. Her newest role has her playing a young pregnant woman, the daughter of a migrant worker, who goes into labor during a strike. Selena's Spring Breakers co-star James Franco wrote, directed, and stars in the Great Depression–era drama, playing the part of the man who helps Gomez deliver her baby.
The movie is a film adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel by the same name and features cameos from other young actors like The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson and Paper Towns' Nat Wolff. The film recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival and is part of a trilogy—no word yet on whether or not we'll see Selena again, but the trailer is utterly captivating.
