Kendall Jenner is once again following in the prestigious footsteps of fashion personalities who came before her. But in this latest news, we’re not just referring to runway icons like Cindy Crawford or Linda Evangelista. Instead, the model is pulling a Cara Delevingne or a Marc Jacobs, as she’s taking to social media to cast the next batch of fresh faces and It girls to front the cover of a major magazine. In some respect, she’s setting out to find her own replacement.
As Love announced this morning, the 20-year-old is teaming with the UK publication’s editor in chief, Katie Grand, to launch a social media search for 20 lucky winners to fly out to Los Angeles and be photographed by Jenner herself for the February cover of the magazine. “Basically Katie Grand and me are looking for this generation’s next icon,” Jenner says in the video below, being sure to add, “Kinda like me, but like a little less good.”
Of course, this is not the first time the model’s gone behind the lens, as she photographed Kaia Gerber for Love this year, as well. But this is her first major talent search. And as she declares, anyone between the ages of 15–35 has a fair chance to win simply by posting their best photo to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #LOVEME17. Seriously anyone. “You could literally be a flea wrangler or catch lobsters,” she confirms.
Watch Jenner explain it all in the video below.
