J.Lo Stole the Only Trick I Know for Making My Outfits Look More Expensive

Jennifer Lopez always looks incredible, but the outfit she wore for a recent appearance on Good Morning America is a moment. The look utilizes one of our favorite tricks to elevate an ensemble: monochrome, baby. Pairing similar shades to create one cohesive look is a simple yet effective way to make any outfit look more expensive. In this case, J.Lo went for all camel.

Worn together, the turtleneck, leggings, and coat (all from the Michael Kors F/W 2022) on Jen pack a seriously chic punch. Any icon knows that it's all in the details, and J.Lo completed her look with a pair of sky-high beige Louboutins and a handbag in a near-matching tone is a no-brainer. A monochrome look works well with any color palette. The only rule? When shopping, try to find shades that are as close as possible for maximum effect. If you can locate a matching set, that's even better. To get you started, I've compiled a few of our favorite monochrome fits below, as well as some basics to get J.Lo's look.
