The Flattering Style Trick Celebs Swear By When Photographed
Celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger works with a staggering number of big names like Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, and Constance Wu, while also serving as the official Armi Captain at the luxury rental and styling platform Armarium.
When it comes to dressing my clients for red carpet and press events where they will be photographed all night, there’s one thing I keep in mind over anything: fit. It’s so important that your clothing fits properly. A lot of times, we’ll fit a look up until right before the moment they walk out the door. It’s all about fitting and then refitting. It’s also super important that before you finalize a look, you photograph it from all angles—sitting, walking, standing—to help avoid any mishaps.
It’s obvious that having clothing well tailored to your body is more comfortable and flattering, but what’s worth noting is how much fit can change the overall success of a photo. With this simple trick, I promise you’ll be ready to perfectly pose in any situation. It’s also important to note that having pieces tailored to fit perfectly at all angles should not be overlooked. It’s sure to boost confidence and elevate your style when photographed. Shop some of the celebrity looks I recently worked on where fit was just as important as it always is.
