8 Spring Trends I’m Glad to Part with, and the 8 I’ll Be Wearing In 2026 Instead
While I'm stuck dodging snow piles on the streets of NYC, my moodboard has already begun to embrace spring 2026. I might be in coats and cashmere now, but in a few weeks, the snow will have melted, layers will be dropped, and trends will have shifted. Funny enough, "dated" trends with vintage-roots are popular again (hint: grandmother's populartizied, It-girls perfected it), classics get a pastal washing, beloved-prints ungergo an evolution, and this royal color reins supreme.
Ahead, eight dated spring trends I'm happy are over, and the eight I'm replacing them with in 2026.

If you haven't been on Pinterest or Instagram in the past few weeks, you may be shocked to find that this retro jewelry trend is popular again. From the looks of it, it would appear that fashion people are rummaging through their grandmothers' jewelry chests to find their best and most brooches. Worn on a lapel, to clasp a sweater, or as a pendant, this antique accessory aligns perfectly with the elegant vintage aesthetic the style set loves so much.

In: Balloon Pants
As spring approaches, I've found myself leaning away from the capri trend that dominated last year. With snow still on the ground in NYC, I'm more attracted to a full-length pair of trousers. The balloon pant is just what I'm looking for. Models on the runway are wearing them with a belted draped blouse, sling-back heels, and an oversized tote. You can find me doing the same come March.

Polka dot 2.0—the dalmatian print trend has quickly pushed aside last year's print of choice, replacing it with a more streamlined version. Don't be all Cruella about it, it's faux. Find it on pumps, totes, and tops, believe you me, this print may be a little out there, but I promise you'll be the talk of the town. With an influx of spotted prints on the market, you can find my favorite below.

As seen on Valentino S/S 26, royal purple is a spring must-have. If you are a frequent WWW reader, you'll know spring 2026 is all about the color combos. IMO, this posh purple would make the best partner. Pair with a mustard like the one above, or opt for a playful teal.

Move over suede, this is the shiny fabric fashion people are wearing on sneakers this spring. Satin sneakers are the lightweight spring alternative to the heavy fall suede style. Walking the Chanel S/S 26 runway, Look 17 features a pink dual-chest pocket shirt with "Chanel" embroidered on the bottom left, worn with a brooch, a maroon high-low skirt, a clutch, and high-vamp heels. It's number one on my list of outfits to recreate for spring 2026. That means, I'm in need of a crisp button-down ASAP. Level up this wardrobe staple by opting for a pastel colorway or stick to the classic white and change up the styling.

I've been in love with mixed metals every seen I saw this picture of Coco Schiffer styling the trend. It's effortless. It's chic. And, it makes the most of your jewelry collection. I used to feel that every metal tone in an outfit had to match, from hardware on shoes to earrings, but taking the stress out of matching and just wearing jewelry I like regardless of its finish brings the fun and energy back into getting ready.

Fashion people are embracing the casual heel, and the best way to do that is with a high-vamp pump. Vamp is the technical term for the top portion of the upper of a shoe. On a high-vamp pump, the leather sits higher on the top of the foot toward the ankle.
