I Wear Black Even in 90-Degree Weather—Here’s How I Make It Work

If you were to look in my closet, you'd see a disproportionate amount of one color more than any other: black. My affinity for the color stems from the fact that it always felt the cleanest, sleekest, and most put-together. As a minimalist dresser, it's the neutral I love most.
I wear black year-round—even in the summer. That said, there are ways I make it more hot-weather-friendly. For example, I consider the fabric. Natural fibers like cotton, pointelle, and silk tend to work best in warmer months because they're breathable and lightweight. There's also the sheer dress and skirt trend, which lends itself especially well to summer dressing. When a full-on heat wave hits, nylon or canvas bags can be a better option than leather ones since they don't stick to your skin as much. Airy pants, like Leset's Kyoto style, are another popular choice.
Some of the most-worn black pieces in my wardrobe include dresses, midi skirts, knee-length skirts, and my ever-expanding collection of black bags and black shoes. Below, shop black clothes for summer.
