I Know H&M’s Anti-Trend Linen Trousers Will Be My Summer Wardrobe MVP
Here are four ways that we're styling the popular H&M Linen trousers for summer 2025
Brittany Davy
When it comes to curating my spring capsule wardrobe, there's one piece that I simply can't live without, and that's linen trousers. When dressing ourselves we're often striving to find that perfect balance of comfort and style, and what item better toes this line than a pair of lightweight linen pants? The fact that they're just so versatile and require little thought is just another reason to love them. Running errands, meeting friends for brunch, or long days in the office—for myself and practically the entirety of the Who What Wear office, they're a summer staple—no matter what the occasion, wearing them you'll always feel polished.
Shopping editor, Florrie Alexander wears H&M's linen-blend trousers.
Among the plethora of options out there, there's one pair I reach for the most in my wardrobe: the H&M Linen Trousers. From the moment I slip them on, I feel instantly put-together yet relaxed (no doubt with the help of the elasticated waistband). Crafted from a luxurious linen blend and featuring a slightly high waist, these trousers are a dream to wear. What's more is that their versatility knows no bounds—trainers or sandals, you can quite literally transition from day to night with just a change of footwear or accessories.
A favourite way for me to execute them of late, is to go for a pair with a matching tailored waistcoat (another hero in my summer arsenal). Tailoring is, and always will be, considered smart—there's no doubt about it. But doing it without the restraints of a fitted blazer and buttoned-up waistband? You can count me in. Pair a linen two piece with some sandals et voilà, that's a chic daytime look completed without much thought. When it comes to evening occasions—date nights or dinners with friends—layering them with a sleek tank and blazer provides unequivocal sophisticated. And this is just two of the many, many ways I love to wear them.
From days out to the office, keep scrolling for all the ways I'm looking to style these expensive-looking trousers this season.
4 Ways to Style the H&M Linen Trousers
1. Waistcoat + Sandals + Basket Bag
Style Notes: Pairing the trousers with a tailored waistcoat is the ultimate spring uniform. Complete the look with tonal sandals and pared-back earrings and you'll ooze old money.

2. Cardigan + Tank Top + Trainers
Style Notes: For a cool-girl approach, team the trousers with a pair of sneakers. I love a tonal look, so like to play with hues in a similar palette. To add a point of difference, play with matching accessories like a tan leather bag and tonal sunnies.
Shop the Look:
M&S does such great knitwear at an affordable price.
I don't want to pick favourites, but if I had to it would be this colour.
You know I had to have a matching moment with the trainers too.
3. T-shirt + Loafers + Earrings
Style Notes: Keep it simple yet stylish with a classic white t-shirt. The striped line trousers will add interest to the block-coloured items whilst the ballet flats add a touch of femininity and softness.
Shop the Look:
I fear I've created a 'The Row obsessed' monster because I need these ballet flats in every colour way.
4. Blouse + Loafers + Earrings
Style Notes: Opting for black linen will allow you to look elegant whilst maintaining the benefits of the breezy material when it's really hot outside. This blouse-linen trousers-suede loafers combo is one that I'll copying for in and out of the office.
Shop the Look:
A chic pair of earrings will serve you well no matter the time of year.
