Editors' Picks: 9 Sneakers That Are Simply the Best
Thanks to the rise (and unwavering endurance) of the athleisure trend, it seems like nowadays, there’s nowhere you can’t wear sneakers. Not that we’re complaining. Even the celebrities we least expected to (we’re looking at you, Victoria Beckham) have traded in their heels for the comfortable alternative at one point or another, making styling them a no-brainer, thanks to the endless amount of sneaker outfit inspiration at our disposal.
That’s why when we at the Who What Wear HQ recently got around to the topic of our favorite sneakers, it was instantly clear that each and every one of us had an opinion to share about our go-to weekend (and sometimes weekday) shoes—and a strong one at that. So today, we’re bringing you nine editors’ favorite sneakers of all time and why so that you can make a choice for yourself should you be in the market for a new pair (or two).

”I’ve been wearing Converse Chuck Taylors since I was a kid, and while I’ve dabbled in other styles, I always go back to them. Clearly, you just can’t compete with the classics.”
Shop: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High Tops ($55)
“If you’re able to get your hands on a pair of Yeezy Boosts, do it fast. The sneakers are by far my favorite right now. The style is sleek, super lightweight, and the best part is the design makes your feet look nice and dainty.”

“I got these Vejas for my birthday earlier this year, but even after a short time, they’ve become my favorite sneakers. Not only are they versatile and pair with everything from dresses to jeans, but they also feel slightly under the radar, which can be nice in a sea of Stan Smiths (which are also stylish, don’t get me wrong).”
Shop: Veja Tennis Shoes in White ($130)
“When it comes to shoes, I’m pretty sensitive to comfort, so when I slipped into these Common Projects for the first time, I was hooked. Only after wearing them almost every day going forward did I find out they’re also made of the most durable leather and, for some reason, always look clean no matter what. It really helps add polish to even my laziest of outfits.”
Shop: Common Projects Women’s Original Achilles Sneakers ($415)
“I basically live in Kenneth Cole’s classic white sneakers. (Kendall Jenner wears this similar pair, FYI). I love them because they’re clean and sleek—and can literally go with any outfit.”
Shop: Kenneth Cole Double Knot Leather Low-Top Sneakers ($145)
“These are the rare athletic sneakers that are actually very simple and minimalistic, which makes them easier to wear with non-athletic clothes. I love that they’re lightweight and quite affordable. I also just noticed that Nike now lets you personalize the soles, which is a fun feature.”
Shop: Nike Roshe One Sneakers ($75)
“I love Vans Authentic Sneakers because they’re truly iconic shoes that will never go out of style. Plus, they’re ultra-comfortable—I’ve never gotten blisters wearing them—and they’re true to my SoCal roots. What more could you want from a pair of sneakers?”
Shop: Vans Authentic Sneakers ($50)
“There aren’t many sneakers I can get away with wearing at the office, but this sleek leather pair fits the bill. They’re a bit of an investment but have proven to be completely worth it!”
Similar Style: Feit Hand Sewn Low Sneakers ($600)
"I love these sneakers because they are abnormally lightweight, they look flattering on your foot, and Gigi Hadid wears them, so I think it’s safe to say they’re a good choice.”
Shop: People Footwear The Phillips Sneaker In Yeti White ($60)

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
