It's become the norm that when a fashion house gets a new creative director who reinvents the label, it becomes the new-old It brand that everyone wants (perfect example: what Alessandro Michele did for Gucci). It's happening again this year, and this time it's Bottega Veneta. This classic brand that we used to all think about for luxury Italian leather goods has been revived by Daniel Lee, who was appointed creative director last year. And now, his designs, which offer a fresh, modern approach to '90s-inspired trends, are all the fashion crowd wants to wear. There's even an Instagram account called @newbottega that's dedicated to his work.
The newly revived Bottega Veneta has very much been embraced across the board (including its It bags), but I'm here to talk about the shoes. Lately, I can't even open Instagram without coming across multiple shots of the exaggerated square- and round-toe shoes with details like quilting and mesh, and colors like electric blue and stark white. They're a far cry from the braided leather flats we used to know the brand for, but they're not so out there that they won't look relevant a few years from now. Want to see why they've been flying out of stock for yourself?
