Chances are that Blake Lively felt pretty comfortable in her outfit for Gigi Hadid's birthday party in New York over the weekend, as it very much channeled the character that kicked off her career—Serena van der Woodsen. If you know anything about her iconic Gossip Girl character, you know that her going-out outfits were hardly of the low-key variety. As someone who watched every episode of Gossip Girl when it was on TV, I can confirm that there were more than a few instances of Lively wearing the classic going-out outfit formula comprised of an ultra-short minidress and heels. And lo and behold, that's exactly what she wore to Hadid's birthday party.
For the festive occasion, Lively wore a magenta Sergio Hudson dress with a red Chanel clutch and red Christian Louboutin heels.
