Bella Hadid Weighs In on the Great Braless Debate

When Kendall Jenner offered up her take on going braless last week, Who What Wear readers were quick to voice their thoughts—the Facebook post alone generated over 1000 comments, with opinions ranging from fully supportive to firmly against. Now, we have another voice to add to the debate: none other than Bella Hadid.

In Hadid's interview for her new Glamour magazine cover, the model voiced her opinion on the subject. "I'm really proud to be a woman," Hadid told the magazine. "I love that women can be feminine but also powerful. You know, free the nipple!" When Glamour asked if she supports the Free the Nipple movement, Hadid shared her thoughts. "I mean, my mom is European," she told the magazine. "My whole family is European. We were always very comfortable with our bodies. It's fine if you don't want to show your body like that. But if a woman wants to show her body, I'm all for it. Everybody loves a little nip."

Now you know Jenner and Hadid's thoughts, we're dying to know where you stand on the great braless debate—tell us in the comments below!

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
