Winter Has Arrived—10 Elevated Yet Cosy Weekend Outfits We're Excited to Wear
The days are growing shorter and although that's saddened my sun-worshipping heart, it's meant that with any small glimpse of sun, I'm reaching for my footwear and heading straight for the door for a weekend winter walk (to catch the quickly descending rays). Fashion can indeed feel less than inspiring when baltic temperatures hit, however, I've been finding ways to make weather-appropriate choices that align with my style. When it comes to walking in the winter, the priority of many is to remain warm, but that doesn't mean that there isn't fun to be had. It can be the opposite with winter-appropriate accessories and experimenting with autumnal colour pallets. From personal experience, I've realised that easily transferable outfits, from indoor venues (read; home) to the outdoors are more time-efficient and encourage me to venture out for much-needed fresh air throughout the day. Although tracksuit sets are wonderful for the cold weather, there are many easy-to-assemble and inspiring ensembles beyond loungewear, especially if like me, your casual clothes quota is lacking. From easy-to-wear skirt outfits to sleek knitted sets, continue reading to discover four inspiring winter weekend outfits that are perfect for walks and beyond.
1. Tonal Cardigan and Maxi Dress
Style Notes: Ever a lover of earthy tones, Monikh demonstrates the appeal of wearing tonal outfits in a khaki (which has become somewhat of neutral colour favoured by minimalists). Not only is the colour scheme rich, but this is also a comfortable outfit you can easily take from the home to the outdoors, give or take a few layering tweaks.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Khaite's iconic cardigan is now available in this dreamy autumnal tone.
You won't get more luxurious loungwear (or warm, for that matter) than a pair of cashmere socks.
This oversized holdall is the perfect companion for a day spent pottering in the city.
It's on the hall of fame and it meets at the intersection of cool Scandi style and comfort.
2. Black Leather Jacket + Black A-Line Skirt
Style Notes: All-black get-ups are always chic and Danielle shows that full-skirted looks can be toned down for off-duty days. Pair skirts with trainers and hardened leather, for a city day on foot. Comfort and trendy rolled into one monochrome look.
SHOP THE LOOK:
This washed charcoal hue will bring dimension to an all-black outfit.
Wales Bonner x Adidas was a rapid sellout amongst some of our favourite retailers, however as Adidas' styles are so timeless, many of its sneakers will work with this look.
One of my favourite skirts at present.
3. Black Cashmere Set + Tan Handbag + Ankle Boots
Style Notes: The appeal of cashmere is that it appears so uniform (especially a matching set). Add a wool coat, a crossbody bag (hands-free accessories are extremely practical when walking) and streamlined boots.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Add the matching trousers for a complete look. I can't think of anything cosier than top-to-toe cashmere.
The Loewe Puzzle bag is still a highly coveted accessory years after its initial release.
This sock boot appears more casual than the typically taught styles.
This coat bridges the gap between smart and casual, so you're guaranteed to get a lot of wear out of it.
4. Shearling Jacket + Jumpsuit
Style Notes: When indoors this weather calls for onesies and its chic alternative is the soft jumpsuit. With the addition of a shearling jacket and chunky trainers, you'll be winter walk ready.
SHOP THE LOOK:
While most shearling jackets are black, COS' iteration is in this sumptuous conker brown.
