Yesterday marked the official start of New York Fashion Week. And while we're busy taking note of some of the biggest trends gliding down the runways, we're happy when someone else comes in to offer a helping hand. Thanks to the experts at Pantone, we now know exactly which 12 colors we'll all be wearing come spring 2018.
Yes, you read that correctly. This season, instead of releasing the usual 10 color predictions, Pantone added an additional two to its trend report. And according to the findings, "Color continues to be a powerhouse and a key influencer of fashion trends for Spring 2018." The reports also states that there is an abundance of "up-lifting shades and feel-good colors" we can expect in the not-so-distant future.
The key shade is Meadowlark (a bright yellow), with Cherry Tomato, Little Boy Blue, and various hues of purple (Pink Lavender, Ultra Violet, and Spring Crocus) also making the list. Expect to continue to see a lot of yellow and red pop up on your fashion feeds. And in the meantime, may we suggest you add a few bright-colored pieces into your wardrobe. Come spring, you'll be all set to rock the biggest trends of the season.
Below, take a look at a few of the colors on the report, as well as some runway examples. Then shop some of our editor favorites in next season's biggest hue: yellow.
A Cherry Tomato Calvin Klein dress seems like the perfect spring essential.
In an Ulla Johnson dress, the soft hue of Blooming Dahlia looks extra feminine.
