I'm a VIP Nordstrom Stylist—I Will and Won't Wear These 8 Items While Traveling

We're always interested to learn about the items various industry insiders think are true wardrobe staples. Sandy Koszarek is one of the experts we routinely turn to given her role as a VIP stylist at one of our favorite retailers, Nordstrom. She recently highlighted the general pieces she thinks are worth adding to a closet. Next up, she's sharing the items she thinks are worth considering for an A+ travel outfit.
There are actually a few specific clothing and accessory options Koszarek will and won't wear when she's traveling. Of course, this is all based on personal preference, and you should always wear what you love, but for Koszarek, the said items are deal breakers for comfy and chic looks.

Will Wear: Denim Jackets and Blazers
Won't Wear: Bulky Outerwear
"When traveling this spring, I'll leave my heavy coat at home and pack a lightweight denim jacket. It's an easy go-to layer, and I can create casual looks by wearing it with all my outfits, from my joggers to dresses. Blazers are another staple item I'll wear when traveling. Again, I pack a neutral color that coordinates with my outfits and fits into my color scheme."

Shop blazers:
Will Wear: White Sneakers and Simple Sandals
Won't Wear: Bright Sneakers and Chunky Shoes
"I love wearing sneakers, but I won't wear bright-colored sneakers while traveling. Instead, I'll wear classic white sneakers that coordinate with my outfits. I also won't wear chunky shoes when traveling, but I will wear lightweight slides I can wear with denim during the day and a dress in the evening."

Shop sandals:
Will Wear: White Shirts and Tank Tops
Won't Wear: Silk Tops
"I won't wear a silk blouse. Instead, I'll wear a classic white button-down that I can style several different ways. I also love the versatility of a tank top and will wear them often instead of a silk camisole. A favorite airplane outfit is wide-leg pants, a tank top, and a denim jacket."

Will Wear: Relaxed Jeans and Joggers
Won't Wear: Skinny Jeans
"I won't wear skinny jeans, but I will wear flare and straight-leg jeans that coordinate with tank tops, a white blouse, and blazers. I also won't pack multiple pairs of leggings. Instead, I'll pack one pair of leggings and one pair of joggers to wear for yoga, walking, and lounging."
